M.I.A Status

Lately, I have been M.I.A with me finishing school, starting a new job, and just being a mother of a 19 month old & 6 month old and trying to be the wifey my hubby deserves. Which leaves barely any time for "me" time.

I hope that I can find the time for "me" and time to be able to do what I love to do...which is blog about our family, updates, photos or anything else that comes to mind.

Sooo I will do a quick LiL Update...

* I just graduated from Northwest Health Careers for Medical Billing and Coding.

* I was hired at the Billing Company that I was doing my externship at.

* Found out that My Brother in Law, Luke and Sister in Law, Lindsee making me an Auntie to a beautiful baby boy. I'm soo happy for them and can not wait to me my nephew.

* Hubby is in a pretty intense training class for work

* We just celebrated two years being married =)

* Makenzie is growing like a weed ... & I think we have entered the start of terrible twos. =( But this shall past...hoping sooner than later lol She has all of her teeth but one. (Which is crazy to say that she has all her teeth but one) Makenzie's newest thing is bring a baby with us where ever we go. Its soo cute, she holds her baby like I do with Kayden, she burps her baby, tries to feed her, and she will even put her baby down for night nite...which she actually says.

* Kayden is finally starting to sit up but falls over every now a then, He is starting to hold his bottle by himself, and he is starting to walk in his round about now, He is a roller, put him down and few seconds later he will be on the other side of the room. He is definitely a busy bee just like his sister.

6 Months Old

Dear LiL Man,
You are growing up to be quite the LiL cutie. I still cant believe that you are a half of a year old. Can you please stop growing up soo fast. It is making me really sad. Especially this past weekend when we went to buy you a bigger car seat. I was not expecting that to happen right away.

You definitely loved sitting up while we were shopping for your new car seat. Mommy and Daddy Definitely loved listening to all the LiL Giggles coming out of you.

Lately, you just love to smile and smile and smile. Which makes me feel amazing. You are one happy and healthy lil man.

You Love hanging out with Makenzie and playing. This past week, you and Makenzie were just hanging out in your highchairs, and daddy and I were just sitting back watching the two of you. You both started playing and laughing at each other. It was the cutest thing ever.

You love to roll over from your back to your belly. No lie, I would put you down, within a few seconds of putting you down, you are on your belly.

I'm not to sure what your stats are at this point, but you have your check up in a few weeks. =)
If I had to guess on how much you weigh right now, I would have to say 20 pounds. You are definitely growing up to be quite the cutie. I just love watching you discover new things.

Things you Enjoy...

~Rolling Over
~Eating Food

4 Months Old

Dear LiL Man,

Kayden, This past month has been a tough one for you and mama. You definitely had me scared because I did not know what was wrong. But I am glad to say that you are doing 100 % better now. You would not think that you were sick 4 days after your three month birthday.

Okay, enough about you being sick. On a happier note, you are growing up so fast. It is definitely making me sad seeing you grow up so quickly.

You love talking...You are definitely experimenting with your sounds. I just love hearing you.

I heard you laugh for the first time, and for some reason you will only do it for mama. Ive tried to get you to do it for Daddy, and you don't do anything. One day, he will hear you laugh. You just have the cutest laugh. It definitely puts a smile on my face hearing that little giggle coming from you.

You have discovered your tongue. You started sticking it out at mommy and grandma this past Saturday. You love playing with your tongue.

You started PreSchool this past month. You love it. You are starting to get more and more comfortable with being there. You love your teachers, and hanging out with your new friends.

You are sleeping majority of the night now. When you got sick you were sleeping 9 hours a night but you are back to your 6 hours then waking up then back to sleep until about 730. Every night before you go to sleep you have to have your bath. You will not let mommy or daddy let you go a night without it. You love your bath time.

You are growing up to be quite the lil man. You definitely look like your daddy...[which is not a bad thing at all =) ] You still have your beautiful blue eyes, the cutest smile with two little dimples. Your left dimple shows up more than your right side. When you get in a really big smile your right dimple shows up. I'm not sure how much you weigh right now, but when we were in the hospital you were at 17 pounds. So Im going to guess that you are most likely at 20 pounds =)

You have your four month well check this upcoming week. So I will know your measurements then. I love you LiL man. Thank you for always putting a smile on Mommy, Daddy's, and Sissy's face.

Speaking of Sissy, you love hearing her voice; you just light up when you hear her. You smile when she is touching you, you just cant wait to play with her.

Thanks for being such a fighter and such an amazing piece to our lil family.

Love you always and forever,
Mommy

WORST month EVER!!!

I'm soo glad this month is over! I just really hope that August treats us a little better than the month of July did.

If you are wondering what happen to us this past month...(read here)
Basically to summarizes for you...
We all got sick at the beginning of the month. Chris most likely brought it home with him from work. We all woke up with Stuffy noses on tuesday morning, then all of sudden the body aches kicked in on wednesday. Well LiL Man got it the worst. He was coughing and sounded like a Seal Barking. He wasnt having a hard time breathing at this point but he was really congested. The next morning he woke up sound like he was having a really hard time breathing. I made a call into the doctors first thing that morning. She did not even have her computer on thats how early I called. Got in right away because she could hear him having a hard time breathing. =( At the doctors office, doing two breathing treatments and a steroid on him and next thing I know Im getting into an ambulance to go to the hospital. Kayden was admitted into the hospital for having croup.

If your not to sure about what Croup is. (Read Here) I would definitely look into it, especially if you have young children. It can be very deadly and its on arise right now. I think 10 other small children were admitted into the hospital along with us for it.

This is what it sounds like and this is what I mean about striding. If you look at the babies belly you can see it caving in. The baby is using his abdominal wall muscle to try to help him breath.

Sorry I'm not trying to scare anyone but I do want you to be aware of those horrible cough, and I don't want any
of you to have to go through what we went through this past month.

Anyways...Kayden is doing much better. Two weeks after get diagnosis for Croup. Kenzie starts coming down with it. She was striding, coughing like a seal and all that good stuff. I did not hesitate on taking her right into the ER. We were there until about 2am they gave her a breathing treatment and a steroid, then sent us home. She still has a cough but its not a barking cough, and still has a cold of some sort.

Chris and I can not wait to not have sick babies anymore. It definitely has put a toll on both of us, and I think our patience levels have definitely been put to the test.

This upcoming Month of August, we are looking forward to our vacation to Minnesota to see Nanni and Bumpa. It will be great to get away, and the cooler air might even help the kiddos with this condition. I am a little nervous to be flying with them with this condition but that is something I will be talking to the doctor about.

Our LiL Fighter

This past Tuesday, all four of us seemed to get stuffy noses. Then progress into a lil cold. When I got home from my exernship on Wednesday night. Kayden sounded horrible, he sounded really stuff. It had me really worried. Chris and I kept going back and forth on if we should take him to the ER, since at this time it was really late.

We decided that we would wait till morning and take him to his actual doctor. I asked my mom to go with me since Chris was at training all morning. After picking her up, we started talking about what the could possibly do for Kayden. She said that he would get a breathing treatment and most likely they would send one home with us. I told her that I had a weird feeling that they are going to make Kayden go to the hospital. She did not really think they would.

Once we got into our doctors appointment, they took us right away. They weighed Kenzie she is already up to 30 pounds...yes you read that right 30 pounds...I cant believe my almost 16 month old is that heavy. No wonder my arms hurt when I carry her. Then it was Kayden's turn...He is up to 17 pounds...I cant believe he weighs that much.

We got into the room, and the nurse was asking what brought us in today, and I told her that Kenzie had a running nose but I mostly thought it was because she was teething. Then she could hear Kayden's breathing and how bad it was.

A few minutes later, the nurse practitioner came in and felt that Kayden need to do a breathing treatment right away. So we started him on one. After we finished, she came and check him out again. She felt that we need to give him some kind of steroid to open his airway. After giving him that steroid and she felt that we need to give him another breathing treatment. She said if this breathing treatment does not seem to work then I have to call the ambulance and have you rushed to the ER. My heart dropped, starting getting really sick to my stomach. They ended up having to call the ambulance, they put him on Oxygen while we waited for them to get there.

Once they got there, they had me sit down while holding him trying to give him oxygen as they pushed us out. They put us into the ambulance (which was my very first time every being in an ambulance) and they gave him a stronger breathing treatment, which calmed Kayden down in seconds. The ones in the Doctor's office were not working and they were only making things worse for him. So we got to ride in the ambulance for literally five minutes (not even) we were right across the street from the hospital. (I cant wait to see that bill...lol)

We got brought into the ER and Kayden was able to breath on his own and he actually fell asleep on my lap. The doctor came in and started asking me questions about what was going on. He could hear Kayden's breathing. He did ask me if Kayden had a cough. I said yes very now and then. He said does it sound like a barking seal. I said yes. He advised me that Kayden had Croup also known as Whopping Cough. At the time I did not know that it was Whopping Cough. All they told me that it was inflammation of the throat and since he is so little and he has a short neck that this is the cause of the Croup.

They ended up doing another breathing treatment on him because the doctor could still hear his loud breathing. So they did another one and if this still left him with that loud breathing then they were going to keep him over night. Well guess what...He left him with loud breathing but not as bad as it was when we first got there, and he was still having to use his auxiliary muscle to help him breath.

So about an hour later, we were brought up to our room which was PICU. They hooked him up to a machine but had like 4 to 5 cords coming off of him. Once we got into his room, he was sound asleep within minutes well of course after they stopped messing with him. It was soo hard to see him like this, I felt so helpless.

Throughout the night, his numbers were perfect. He was getting 100% oxygen in, which usually means that the bacteria is killed. By morning, Kayden and I just waited for the doctor to come in. Of course they like to take their sweet time to come into the hospital. The doctor was going to release him because he felt that he was doing amazing. He wanted him to do one breathing treatment at the hospital before we left, so we did. We did not get released until about 12. =)

Kayden and I dropped off his prescription and then headed him. He fell asleep in the car but woke right up when we got home. He fought me with going to sleep from about 1 pm to about 330pm. He was starting to get all worked up again. He had a really hard time trying to catch his breath, and his cheeks were extremely red. I tried everything that they told me to do. Start the shower put it on cold and just sit in their with the cold mist coming out. So I turned the water on, sat down with him and let the cold water run with the mist coming out of the shower. I noticed that he was having to use his stomach muscles to breath and once he started doing that. I started freaking out, I called my mom asked her to come over to sit with Kenzie. Once she got her we were off to the hospital for the second time.

They took us right in, since we were only released about 3 hours earlier. They hooked him up to the monitor again and his Oxygen levels were at a 100%. The doctor said that he has no longer Croup, he just has a flu now. So we are on the final stages of it =D The doctor also advised us not to use the breathing treatment that they gave us because it would do no use. Just to use a humidifier and cold mist coming off the shower or freezer.

Once we were discharged, Kayden fell asleep for about 4 hours straight. Then I woke him up because I wanted to give him a bath to get all that hospital yuckiness off of him. Gave him a bottle and he fell alseep in my arms. I think I feel asleep as well...lol!

Kayden slept through the night.
(which was his first time ever doing =)

He is definitely Our LiL Fighter. He kept fighting to get better, and Im happy to say that he is doing MUCH better! You can not hear his breathing anymore, he has color back in his face, he does not have that cough any more.

Thanks for keeping up a great fight LiL Man!!

I do want to thank My Mom, Dad, Sister, Daniel and Lyndsey, and Samantha for helping us with everything in the hospital. I also want to Thank Everyone for all the prayers and get well wishes that you said for Kayden. All your prayers were truly answered. Thank You again!!

Here are a few pictures of Kayden in the hospital...

First Day of PreSchool

Today was the first day for the kiddos first day of PreSchool. Chris and I were pretty bummed about it, but we both know and understand that it will be best for them. They have a structural learning system, they will learn social skills, and they will be learning how to get potty trained. The daycare that we decided to take them to is called "The Art of Learning". We choose this one because its close to home =) and one of our friends works there which makes Chris and I feel a lot more comfortable about having them in daycare.

Kenzie getting ready for her first day of school =)

Kayden all ready for his big day!

All strapped into their car seats and ready to go.

This is Kenzie first arts and crafts that she made...Its a Kite

Quick story to share... Chris said goodbye to Kenzie three times, and she never cried!!! On the last goodbye, Chris walked into her daycare room, where she sat next to two other toddlers who were about 1 year old. She was truly breaking her bread (her roll which she ate along with potatoes and chicken) and giving it to the other two children to eat... she is such a blessing!!!

One Month Old

Dear Kayden,

Today you are one month old and I cannot believe how quickly the time has gone by. Today is a nice warm and sunny May day, and this was the last day that we were able to see Grandpa Jim here on earth with us. This morning, I cuddled with you before I had to head to school, and then daddy took over to play with you and sissy! When I got back from school, you and I went to the doctors for your One Month Check up. You are doing awesome! You are weighing in at 10 pounds and 11 ounces. You are 22 ½ inches long and you head circumference is 38 cm. We are still battling your rash on your bottom but Dr Misch suggested some new things that we are definitely going to be trying.

What you look like…

You have beautiful blue eyes, I always catch myself staring at your eyes because they are soo blue ~almost as blue as the ocean. Your hair color is dark brown and you actually had tons of hair. You look a lot like your daddy. You have the cutest dimples ever.

All about you…

You love to cuddle…which is okay because we are family of cuddlers!! I just love how when nothing else seems to make you happy that I can just lay you on my chest and you calm down by the sound of Daddy’s or Mommy’s heart beat. Some days you love to take baths and others you scream your head off. Im sure this will change after your bottom is healed all the way.

Your make the cutest little sounds, especially when you get excited for your bottle!

You wake up about three times a night~ Midnight, 3:00, 5:30. Thankfully, you go back to sleep after your bottle and we cuddle for a bit.

You are sleeping in Mommy and Daddy’s bed still. You really don’t like sleeping in your bassinet. We will lay you down in there sound a sleep and two seconds your wide awake not a happy camper. So we have been letting you sleep in our bed either in the boppy or on mommy’s chest. When you do sleep, you love to sleep with your arms up. Mommy, Daddy, and sissy all do this as well!! ;)

You like to be swaddle but only if your arms are out. You will only take a pacifier when you are not sure if you are still hungry or not.

Sister/Brotherly Love

Makenzie loves you soo much! She cannot wait to play with you. She is very interested in you. When You are crying, she will go find a pacifier or your bottle, and she will try to hand it to Mommy or Daddy to give it to you. She doesn’t like hearing you cry it actually makes her sad when you cry. She tries to hand you her toys but you are too little to play with them. She is trying to say your name, its really cute!!

We Love you LiL Man!!

2 Week Check Up

Kayden had his two week check up this morning. He is looking great and doing great.
His Measurements are:
Height: 21 inches (50-75%)
Weight: 8lbs 10 oz (25-50%)
Head Circumference: 36 1/2 cm (25-50%)

The only thing that we are trying to get rid of is his horrible yeast infection. Chris and I have been trying to get rid of it for the past two to three days. Our doctor prescribed Kayden some medicated cream~thankfully we already had some and we were treating it already. I could only imagine how bad it would be if we weren't using that cream.
Other than that Mr. Kayden is doing amazing and is healthy as can be! =)
